"France - June 6, 1944 - 0530 hrs

The allies are getting ready to capture the village of Ste. Mere Eglise, about five miles inland from Utah Beach. They're approaching through a narrow village street with a small dairy farm, and a farm is believed to be mined.

The roads of Ste. Mere Eglise connects Utah Beach to the main highway of the Peninsula, which should put the allies right in the path of the most likely German counterattack.

The village is believed to be occupied by German S. S. Panzer troops, and they have loaded the remaining V1 rockets onto the train and are about to move into a safer location. The allies must capture the town before the train leaves, so the boys on the Beach can have a chance to move up safely."
