DE_SAINTODILE by Tazus

The reconsituion of a real place in a field as the video games is very complex. It is indeed necessary to know to play skilfully enters returned viseul and the technical standards imposed by the punt forms on which one evolves/moves. De_SaintOdile is thus my second map (after Loftstrike) which with for goal to restore most accurately possible, a real place, virtually. But this time Ci I had two factors considerable not to remake the same errors as before (technical level of deplorable Loftstrike): the experiment, and Tazus a mappor français(ayant to him even a considerable experiment in the mapping Half-Life). Thus after Tazus has was on the ground in order to take some photographs, it started to create a first outline of the chart. I then took again the torch, by almost improving all the photographs which it had taken, and by operating a recasting of architecture, in order to insert there the basic rules in question of optimization. I then continued, by adding passages and while making evolve/move the graphic style, according to my vision of the things. I created models of fountain and bench, tree trunk besides under 3Dsmax (image 6). I thereafter returned the sources of the map to Tazus which to establish all the sound environment, and to reorganize some passages has its way.

Before continuing the description of the map, I propose to you to discover more in detail, which is theSaint-Odile Mount. It is acted in fact of an old convent (XIIe- XXe S.), which was bombarded during the Second World War then rebuilt. The Holy Mount Odile is also sadly known by the air crash which entraina an Airbus A 320 to be crushed not far from there. Two sites to discover the Saint-Odile Mount: here.

The map in itself thus tries as much as possible to approach réalitée while sticking to the maximum with punt forms plays selected. You will be able to thus find easily the bond between image 1 and 3 or 2 and 10 (in any case I hope for it). The map is intended for the MOD Counter-Strike for Half-Life and puts in action 2 teams: the terrorists starting at the entry of the convent (image 10) must pose a bomb close to the starting point to counter terrorist (images 3 and 4). With this intention they will be able to take several way: the interior course (images 8, 11 and 12), skirting arranged ways the vacuum (images 5, 6 and 14), or ways more ' naturels' (images 9 and 16). The sound environment adds realism with creation, and many details like the tower of snipe (images 6 and 7), ensures an interesting gameplay...
